Maschinenkangwerk creates an immersive play space. The industrial heritage Gesenkschmiede Hendrichs springs to life around its visitors, enmeshing them in a captivating blend of light and sound installation.

Just by walking through the space, visitors impact their surroundings and contribute to a dynamic sound- and lightscape.

Embracing the Source Material

The project emerged in a dialogue between museum staff, festival organizers, and the game development team. Particularly critical to the project's success was the careful and conscious selection and amplification of the source material – the stunningly preserved industrial heritage site Gesenkschmiede Hendrichs.

Using Groundbreaking Technology

Maschinenklangwerk relies on cutting-edge AR technology, using industrial Bluetooth-based indoor-tracking, combined with spatialized audio, networked multiplayer, and DMX stage lights to create an immersive playful space.

The entire exhibition space comes to live around and through its visitors.
